LVIV, UKRAINE — Ukrainian pet food manufacturer Kormotech announced its launch on Petmall, Bulgaria’s largest online pet supplies retailer. Through the partnership, dry and wet recipes from Kormotech brands Optimeal, Club 4 Paws, My Love and Delickcious will be available both online and in Petmall stores.
Founded in 2016, Petmall is focused on providing Bulgarian pet owners with access to high-quality pet products and services to enhance pets’ wellbeing. In addition to its online platform, it operates 17 physical stores and has plans to open eight more within the next year and a half.
According to Kormotech, it continues to see growth in the Bulgarian market.
“Kormotech products have been in the Bulgarian market for over eight years. In 2024, we sold 1,900 tons of pet food here — 39% more than in 2023,” said Yuriy Bykoriz, director of development for Central and Eastern Europe at Kormotech. “We aim to become one of the top three market leaders within the next three to four years.”
Forecasts predict that Bulgaria’s pet food market will grow at an annual rate of 3.32% (CAGR) from 2025 to 2029, according to Kormotech. As the premiumization trend continues in the Bulgarian pet food market, and globally, Kormotech is aiming to meet this demand with its premium products.
“Despite growing online sales, Bulgaria remains a market where physical stores are the preferred choice for many pet parents,” Bykoriz said. “The humanization of attitudes toward animals and growing awareness of nutrition’s impact on their health drive demand for quality food. Through our partnership with Petmall, quality nutrition from Kormotech brands will reach a broad audience of Bulgarian pet parents.”
The Petmall partnership supports the company’s export strategy through 2028, which calls for actively expanding Kormotech’s presence in Central and Eastern Europe, where Bulgaria represents a key growth market.
